WE MAKE GAMES

This is the first board game developed by WeMakeGames, a game design and publishing company based in Vancouver, BC.
The company needed a website for the launch of their first ever product.

The Problem

WeMakeGames faces the exciting challenge of establishing a captivating online presence for their upcoming game launch. Currently lacking a compelling platform, the company seeks a website that not only showcases the game's features, gameplay mechanics, and unique selling points but also engages visitors in a user-friendly and visually appealing manner. The goal is to craft a website that effortlessly communicates the game's value to potential players, generating genuine interest and ultimately encouraging conversions.

The Goal

The goal is to design and develop a user-friendly and visually appealing website that effectively communicates the game's value to potential players, drives interest, and encourages conversions.

Research

• Conducted surveys and interviews to understand the target audience's preferences, motivations, and expectations when visiting a board game website.

• Identified the key information users seek, such as gameplay mechanics, visuals, reviews, and purchasing options.

• Analyzed competitor websites to identify successful design elements and areas for improvement.

Meet Katie

  • Katie grew up playing board games with her family and has continued the tradition with her friends as an adult. She loves the social aspect of board games and enjoys trying out new games with her group.
     

  • Goals: Wants to find new and interesting board games to play with her friends. She also wants to improve her strategy skills to win more games.
     

  • Challenges: Finding time to schedule game nights with her busy work schedule, and finding games that are challenging enough but not too complicated to learn.
     

  • Personality: Outgoing and social, enjoys spending time with friends and meeting new people. Competitive and likes to win, but values the social aspect of board games more.
     

  • Behavior: Regularly attends game nights with her friends, actively seeks out new board games online and in local game shops, and is open to trying out different types of games.
     

  • Quote: “I love board games because they're a great way to connect with people and escape from the stresses of daily life. Plus, who doesn't love a good challenge?"

  • Teddies vs Monsters is a fast-paced, real-time, card game, that perfectly combines chaotic fun, with a strategically driven gameplay.

  • It only takes 5 minutes to learn and 5 minutes to play, plus… it is the kind of game that does not require you to be an avid board game player.
